Seychelles Defence Forces Commissions another vessel into its fleet

In a small ceremony this morning, the SDF Commisioned another vessel into its fleet. The ceremony was held at the Seychelles Coast Guards Base in the presence of the Commander In Chief President Wavel Ramkalawan, Vice President Mr. Ahmed Afif, Ambassador for India Mr. Kartik Pande, ministers, members of the Defence Force council and military personnel from both the SDF and Indian Armed Forces.

A donation from the Indian Government, Patrol Boat Boudeuse, which will replace the PB Hermes, is a Fast Interceptor Craft that has been specially designed for Coastal Defence duties, patrol and surveillance.

It is adapted for day and night patrolling and surveillance as well as high-speed interception in anti-terrorist, anti-smuggling, light-intensity military operation and for the protection of coastal waters.

As per naval traditions, Second Lieutenant Marlon Noel received the National Flag from the Commander in Chief and proceeded to place it on the newly commissioned Patrol Boat. This was followed by prayers and blessings by the Force Chaplain, Lt Col Louis Agathine.
