On Wednesday 21 August 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) reinforced its commitment to local communities by handing over a modern fishing unit to the Lokoundje-Embouchure fishermen’s and farmers’ cooperative.
The donation, valued at FCFA 7,125,000, includes a wide range of modern fishing equipment, such as monofilament nets, floats, bobbins, life jackets, a 15 hp outboard motor, a motor dugout canoe and caribou ropes.
Thanks to this cutting-edge equipment, local fishermen will now be able to work in optimised conditions, responding more effectively to market needs while preserving the region’s fish stocks in the long term.
It should be noted that this initiative is part of PAK’s corporate social responsibility approach, which aims to support the empowerment and well-being of local communities.
