In an effort to mitigate the possibility of any water incident during the forth coming raining season, the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) through its Jalingo Area office has collaborated with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Red Cross and all other relevant stakeholders in the state.
The purpose of this collaboration is to sensitize the General public and water users on the need to adhere to safety protocols before and when boarding vessels especially during raining season.
The Area Manager of Jalingo Area Office Engr. Isah Dalhatu stressed the importance of sustaining this cooperation among the Agencies, as they can achieve better results in curbing boat mishaps when they work as a team.
